Music! I freaking LOVE music. It heals. It makes me dance. It makes me cry. The LYRICS. Ugh, I love lyrics. I’ve come to realize that people are either a lyrics person or a beats person. I am 100%, without a doubt, a lyrics person. Sometimes they’ll be one line in a song that just slays me.
For those that know me, you may think a music post will be strictly about country music. I can’t lie, that is where my heart is, but believe it or not, I actually do like all kinds of music! So for today’s first music post, I thought I’d share what concerts are on my radar for 2018, along with a link to my favorite (or one of my favorite) song(s) by the artist. Are you the kind of person who listens to the entire album when it’s released? I am. So, I’m usually rocking out to songs well before, if they ever, hit the radio. I hope to introduce you to some unreleased gems and collabs.
Concerts are my jam (pun intended), and the lists of artists I’ve seen grows by the year. I have been a bit more selective over the past couple of years, because my concert-going had really got out of hand (and it’s expensive!). I have cut myself off from repeats, with a few exceptions, and as of now am limiting my concerts to 4 for the year. Maybe just 3. We will see.
First off, for my country music lovers, I’m sure you’ve seen that SUGARLAND IS BACK TOGETHER. This is big. HUGE. They are magic together. To say I am excited is an understatement. Jennifer Nettles’ voice is unparalleled. I. CANNOT. WAIT. And, yes, this will be a repeat.
The Chainsmokers. They’re hugely popular and I heard amazing in concert. I wanted to go last year, but I was out of town. I saw Coldplay in October and they played their collab with The Chainsmokers and I loved it!
Ed Sheeran. The dude has talent, he does his entire concert just him! Come on. Although I did read an article where he was talking about going out after his shows, and since it’s just him, he said it can be kind of random. But then he also said that after his show at MSG, he ended up taking JayZ & Beyonce to his friends pub on the Lower East Side. So it can’t be that bad. Anyway, I’m sure his shows are fully of teeny-boppers, but this year, I am in! There are a few renditions of this song, but this is hands down my favorite.
Thomas Rhett. This is my maybe concert for the year. I love his music, but I’m not DYING to see him live. The main reason I want to is because I follow he and his wife on Instagram and they’re just so cute. So, he gets filed in the “we will see” bucket.
That’s it for today. I hope you enjoy rocking out to these songs, because I sure did as I was typing this up. Come back tomorrow for Friday’s post! I’m excited about it!
